Ezemiah is a combination of the Old Testament prophets’ names Ezra and Nehemiah. These leaders brought the Jewish diaspora remnant out of captivity in Babylon/Persia back to their homeland. Ezra was a Bible teacher who taught the people the Word of God, and Nehemiah was a reformer and builder who reestablished the walls and nation of Israel. Like many of our families' immigrant stories, they were born in a country not their own, but they gave their lives to rebuilding the next generation spiritually, and restoring a culture of worship in their homeland.
Starting in South Korea in 2006, the Ezemiah Movement’s mission is to rebuild the spirit of the next generation. By encouraging the global Korean diaspora to return to their homeland of South Korea to teach the Word of God and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, they hope to bring the revival of God's culture of worship to the next generation both at home and in the Global church.
In this spirit, Ezemiah Global, a U.S. based ministry, was launched to raise up the next generation of Ezras and Nehemiahs. By training and sending out Ezemiahs to serve not only in South Korea, but across various cultures and nations, our aim is to make God’s culture of worship global!
At the core of Ezemiah ministry are the study of God’s word, the work of the mission fields, and partnering with the Global church. We believe that in order to realize the reality of the Gospel message, a holistic and coherent view of the Bible is required. This understanding, along with a consistent discipline of Bible study, participation and partnership in the various mission fields across the world where God’s Word is being lived out, allows us to experience God’s work in us, in our community, and in the Global church.
Ezemiah Global Ministries will pursue this vision through the teaching of both Old and New Testament Bible classes (Wow, I get the Bible!), and various global missions trips throughout the year.
This winter break we will hold the first annual Ezemiah Global Conference. With a focus on the Korean diaspora church, it will bring together peers from around the world to worship, pray, and consider how to connect culturally, partner globally, and share the Gospel with the next generation. This event will serve as a spark to ignite the hearts and minds of the next generation to commit to this mission, and to being a witness for God!
